Some QBOers are doing for this, however time is very save - deadline: February 22.
Anh T mến,
Cái grant của YSA là một ý tưởng hay, QBO nên tham gia. Vì dealine rất gần nên cần phải làm mau. Tocxu có thể giúp một tay.
Đây là cái outline:
1) Đề nghị nhân sự: Kim Hoa, An Giang, anh Tình, và TX.
Tocxu.
OK, TX. Anh dang voi thu xep may viec de niem phong Lab, trua ve nha anh se mail va trao doi them.
"What do we live for if it is not to make everyone’s life less difficult?"I was born in a poor place of Quang Binh, a province in the middle of Vietnam. You ma y sometimes hear about my country in some history book of the severe wars in the world or in some tourism guidebook of international natural heritages (Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha Cave, etc.) My hometown is bordered by sea in the east and the mountains in the west. Being born in such a poverty-stricken land, I know and perceive almost all the difficulties and poverty that my people have been experiencing. A lot of children in the country or in the mountainous areas struck by the poor life have to leave school to make both ends meet at the very early age. With no education, no degrees, no jobs, they have no ways to remain their lives apart from getting stuck in social evils or relying on natural resources. Thus, I, along with many other people of my generation, have always brought up a dream of releasing my people from this difficult life. We together build up a project called “BOOKS FOR SANDY LAND” to collect old books from all over the country for the economy-disabled children in my hometown. We also welcome donations to buy new collection of books.
There are many reasons why we choose this project. Firstly, I think that the most important thing for fortune-deprived children now is to have more chance to go to school. Schooling will help them find the way to escape poverty or at least will help them lead a more human life. Meanwhile, children in poor areas usually face up to a lot of challenges to go to school. Among them is lacking textbooks for a new school-year. The success of our project will relieve a burden of buying books to continue their studying. Secondly, the project helps to reuse a huge number of old textbooks discarded by pupils in big cities every year. Giving these discarded books to friends of less lucky living conditions will create more values will be more meaningful than just sending them to recycling paper manufacturers.
I’m sure that the success of the project can bring children of economic disability a significant present, relieving the hardship that hard life is imposing on them. I just want to give them a hope for a better life by giving them vehicle for their routes to their own futures. I just want to let them see that although the destiny may be quite unfair for them, they are never forgotten. I want to do all of this, simply because as a famous writer, named George Eliot, used to say: “what do we live for if it is not to make everyone’s life less difficult?”
